According to the Act on Residence of Aliens in the Territory of the Czech Republic, starting from January 1st, 2010, every alien staying in the country that has obtained a visa for over 90 days or has a permit for long-term stay (The Czech Republic residence permit) must have medical insurance purchased from a Czech insurance company.
